The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is depicted on the front side of the cross. It is crowned with the Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands, the strongest protective symbol of Orthodoxy.
The reverse side of the cross is depicted with the image of Nicholas the Wonderworker, the most revered saint in the Orthodox Church. Believers pray to him when they go on trips, especially at sea, ask for healing from various illnesses, help in business, education and finding a worthy bride / groom. The ear of the cross depicts the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove.
